Please consider renewing your membership and making a donation to help DP-DC do its part to defeat Sen. Ron Johnson and re-elect Gov. Tony Evers. The Wisconsin Senate election could determine whether Democrats retain control of the U.S. Senate. The Governor has been our only protection against Republican efforts to fundamentally alter the Wisconsin Compact and our good-neighbor commitment to progressing forward together.

The Washington Post, CNN, and MSNBC all have labeled the Wisconsin Senate race as potentially the most important in the nation! Candidates campaigning to run against him in November say Johnson has maintained his power with corporate money, right- wing conspiracy theories, and a staunch adherence to Trumpism.

THE WAY WE WANT TO LIVE              Democrats      Republican

ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE             Yes                     No

A LIVING WAGE MINIMUM WAGE                           Yes                     No

EVERY PERSON’S VOTE COUNTS.                         Yes                     No

GUARANTEED CLEAN DRINKING WATER              Yes                     No

WELL-FUNDED preK-14 SCHOOLS                        Yes                     No

These are the issues people in NE Wisconsin and Door County care about. They are “kitchen table” issues we expect government to protect and ensure. At their heart they are family, neighborhood and community issues. We are the party of friends and neighbors who take care of each other. We will not stand by and let corporate greed pollute the water, land and skies we love and share. We will not let our first-class education system be dismantled for the benefit of the few. We will not allow one group of people’s votes to matter more than the votes of other people.

Join us at our April 28 General Meeting when Steve Olikara, candidate for US Senate, will be our guest.
We will also have a discussion about messaging and signage in the months ahead leading to the November elections.

Email: doordems.org @gmail.com. for details to join us in person or by Zoom.

Mark your calendar for our May 19 7:00 General Meeting with State Treasurer and candidate for US Senate Sarah Godlewski.

And for June 22 7:00 to meet with Sara Rodriguez who is running for election as Lieut. Governor.

Hopefully: We have a tentative YES from the campaign to re-elect Gov. Tony Evers for a Door County event Sunday afternoon, September 18th. Please put the date in your calendar. We hope 250+ people and you will attend!

Ron Maclean is our new Office Coordinator! He is a veteran of past campaigns and a variety of different jobs. He has also taken on the task of getting the website (DoorDems.org) ready for the November campaign cycle. If you can help, let him know at ron.dpdc@yahoo.com

Our new office- opening May 2 3:00

We have a new Democratic Party office inside the old Nicolet/ Baylake Bank building at 4th and Jefferson. The office is on the first floor down the hall from the central lobby.

We are looking for volunteers to take weekly 3-5 hour shifts- initially afternoons, then evenings and mornings. Weekends are especially important. If you could take the same shift each week (minus traveling and emergencies). Initially we will be open 3:00-6:00 every week day.

Tasks include greeting new volunteers, helping with mailings, answering the phone, giving out signs and just generally holdingdown the fort. Call 920-365-1047 to set up a tour and orientation.

Telling our story to 250,000 potential voters

Does it bother you that in recent elections GOP signs badly outnumbered Dem signs in Northeast Wisconsin? We don’t want it to happen again.

So a volunteer team of campaign veterans from Brown, Door and Kewaunee counties have put together a plan to purchase billboard space along the I-41, Hwy. 42/57, Hwy. 172 and Hwy. 54 high-traffic corridors. This will help us reach more than a quarter-million voters through the summer and fall.

Messaging will be geared toward pro-Democratic Party values- not specific candidates. Beginning with billboards, as funds allow, the campaign will then reach out to 4×8 signs in other areas and also radio ads. VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS. THEY VOTE FOR YOU.

We need your help to fight back. Marinette County is $20,000+ into their similar campaign and the TriCounty group has the same goal. Can you help with a designated contribution to the campaign? You can donate through ActBlue at secure.actblue.com/donate/tri-county-influence

Wisconsin Conservation Voters

urges us to contact our State legislators and insist that they become champions for safe drinking water by supporting the CLEAR Act (SB361, AB 419). Every person has a right to safe drinking water! The bill would establish essential public health based clean water.

Sen. Angus King (I-Maine)

wants us to know “In Maine, we have: no voter ID laws, we have same day registration, we have no-excuse absentee voting, we have mail-in voting, we have early voting, we have 24/7 drop boxes. And we have virtually nofraud.”

Heather Richardson Cox

writes “only 28% of Americans know that the country has been gaining jobs over the past year and 38% think we have lost jobs!”

We must get the truth out about what is actually going on and promote our positive vision for the future.
